Biography

Rachel C. Whitsitt is licensed to practice law in Kansas and Missouri. She has spent her entire career focusing primarily on family law issues, representing clients throughout the Greater Kansas City area. Her cases include a variety of issues, including divorce, separate maintenance, paternity, child custody and parenting time, child support, spousal support, guardianship of minors, third party child custody, and visitation rights.

Committed to resolving her clients’ cases as efficiently and fairly as possible, Rachel believes in open and direct communication. It helps her clients develop a practical plan of action for their cases. And it garners trust from judges, opposing counsel, mediators, conciliators, and guardians ad litem.

Rachel received her Bachelor of Arts in psychology and political science from Kansas State University in 2007, followed by her Juris Doctorate from Creighton University School of Law in 2010. She had the good fortune to join forces with her father, Michael E. Whitsitt, who was already a well-established attorney in the Kansas City area. Through his mentorship, Rachel gained significant experience with high-asset divorce cases and related issues—like complex property valuations, making and interpreting premarital agreements, and analyzing income for support determinations. She also has significant experience helping clients navigate complex child custody and support situations, always striving to achieve results for her clients geared toward the best interests of their children.

In 2026, Rachel jumped at the opportunity to partner with Lauren Fields so that they could create Whitsitt Fields, LLC.  Whitsitt Fields family law clients have the benefit of attorneys who are highly capable of navigating their family law issues alongside them. Rachel’s clients will tell you, the natural anxiety that comes with family law litigation melts away in Rachel’s presence. Her helpful nature and unmistakable command of the issues will calm your nerves and make you feel confident in your case.
